Bedale Post Office, 6 Market Place, Bedale, DL8 1EQ
Affecting: Crakehall, Leeming Bar, Leeming, Snape, Newton le Willows, Well,
Carthorpe, Scruton, Morton On Swale, Kirkby Fleetham, Hunton, Finghall, Middleham, Bellerby,
West Witton, Dishforth, Redmire and West Burton Mobile Services
We are writing to advise you that, for operational reasons, the above branch closed on Wednesday
8 July 2026. As a result of the closure, the mobile services Crakehall, Leeming Bar, Leeming, Snape,
Newton le Willows, Well, Carthorpe, Scruton, Morton On Swale, Kirkby Fleetham, Hunton, Finghall,
Middleham, Bellerby, West Witton, Dishforth, Redmire and West Burton which were operated by the
postmaster from Bedale Post Office also closed on 8 July 2026. Please accept my apologies for the
late notification on this occasion.
We are working to restore these Post Office services, and I apologise for any inconvenience these
closures may cause locally. In the interim, we hope that our customers will continue to use Post Office
services and details of possible alternative Post Office branches in the area are shown at the end of
this letter.
